Management Tips: Prevent Sticky Fingers 


As part of your front office staff's daily routine, make sure to have them print the "audit trail" with the day end reports. The "audit trail" should list every transaction, service item and/or inventory item typed into the practice management software each day. It will include all deletions, changes in fees and transactions invoiced. Have your practice manager or the owner of the practice scan it daily to identify any strange or unusual activity. It also helps you identify errors with provider codes and fee capture issues.
